6512th Test Squadron; B-1B Combined Test Force

From CMSgt Jerry Densmore -- "If I remember, this patch was from CTF ops at Edwards circa 1987 timeframe. Aircraft 1 refers to the first B model B-1, Tail number 82-0001. We shortened it to 2001 and sometimes called the aircraft Hal. Leader of the fleet is a reference to the fact all testing for mods/software updates was flown on this aircraft before the TCTOs were sent to the field for implementation. The H.A.W.K. is the nickname we had for the B-1; Holiday and Weekend Killer'". From Bill Sheehan -- "The H.A.W.K. patch was made by me at Edwards, I was a inspector on the all the test flight birds B-1A, B-1B. I made up about 50 types of patches for the different a/c. The H.A.W.K. patch was made because you worked nights, days, and weekends. Holidays you lived there, it was a weekend killer check out."
