Versions of this patch were work by Air Force Logistics Command functional and engineering flight test sections of the various Air Logistics Centers. In 1988, these sections became Test Squadrons (2871st at Tinker AFB, 2872d at Hill AFB, 2873d at Kelly AFB, 2874th at McClellan, 2875th at Robins AFB)
